French football giant Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has reportedly been unable to reach an agreement with forward Kylian Mbappe over his contract, despite the player's desire for a new deal.
The 22-year-old French international has been heavily linked with moves away from PSG this summer, with Real Madrid and Manchester United among those said to be interested in signing him.
However, it seems that Mbappe is still unwilling to sign a long-term deal at PSG, despite the club's attempts to convince him otherwise.
Despite the ongoing negotiations, PSG have confirmed that they will continue to work on a new contract for Mbappe.
"We are working on a new contract for Kylian," PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi told reporters. "We are working hard. We want to keep him."
Mbappe has scored 79 goals in 155 appearances for PSG since joining the club in 2017, helping them win back-to-back Ligue 1 titles.
He was named the Ligue 1 Player of the Year last season, scoring 34 goals and providing 16 assists in all competitions.
Despite his success at PSG, Mbappe has struggled to find consistency in recent seasons, with injuries and form fluctuations hampering his ability to consistently deliver for the club.
As the transfer window approaches, Mbappe's future remains uncertain, with both PSG and his representatives likely to be seeking to agree terms that suit their respective interests.
